ADVANCED DEFENSIVE HANDGUN
Course Title: Advanced Defensive Handgun
Description: This is not a beginner's class. The Advanced Defensive Handgun course is designed for the serious concealed carrier or responsible citizen who has mastered the fundamentals and wants to learn how to apply them under pressure. This is a fast-paced, physically demanding course that moves beyond static marksmanship and introduces the dynamic skills necessary to prevail in a real-world defensive encounter.
You will learn to think, move, and solve problems with your pistol. We will push you to a high standard of speed and accuracy while maintaining a non-negotiable standard of safety.
In this course, you will learn:
Refining the Draw: How to safely and consistently draw from concealment or an open holster with speed.
Advanced Malfunction Clearance: Learn to immediately diagnose and clear complex Type 2 (stovepipe) and Type 3 (double-feed) malfunctions under stress.
Dynamic Reloads: Perform speed reloads and tactical reloads while maintaining situational awareness.
Shooting on the Move: Learn the fundamentals of engaging targets accurately while advancing, retreating, and moving laterally.
Use of Cover & Concealment: Learn the difference between cover and concealment and how to effectively use barricades and obstacles for protection.
One-Handed Manipulations: Practice shooting, reloading, and clearing malfunctions using only your dominant hand and only your support hand.
Multiple Target Engagement: Learn to efficiently transition between multiple threats at varying distances.
Positional Shooting: Engage targets from unconventional positions, such as kneeling, from the ground (urban prone), and around obstacles.
Stress-Based Drills: Your skills will be put to the test in scenario-based drills that require critical thinking and performance on demand.
